Hello there! My name is Felipe Dias, and I am the editor of Early Music Scores. I hold a bachelor's degree in Music from Escola de Música da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, RN, Brazil. I am currently pursuing a Master of Music in Early Music Singing at the Musikhochschule Trossingen in Germany.
My passion for Early Music has driven me to transcribe and edit 17th-century vocal music from primary sources, including facsimiles of manuscripts and early prints.
I focus on soloistic vocal repertoire such as Italian secular songs and monodies, solo chamber cantatas and laments, English mad songs, French airs de cour, solo motets, and more. I have a special interest in vocal historical ornamentation, exploring and reconstructing diminutions in solo madrigals and embellished versions of 17th-century continuo songs.
Since 2020, I have independently published a lovely range of interesting and rare Early Music gems. I have an extensive collection of published scores that are readily available. In addition, I have access to a wide range of 17th-century vocal music primary sources, and I always welcome and encourage requests for new editions!
Thank you for visiting my website, and I hope you enjoy it!
Cheers!
